Candlelight Festival
(Friday before Parade)
Beginning November 29, the Port Hope Candlelight Festival is a holiday experience that invites you to come and explore the seasonal transformation of downtown Port Hope. Programing for the Port Hope Candlelight Festival has been modified to include both in-person and self-guided exploration activities this year. As such, the Candlelight Walk and park lighting ceremony have been cancelled.
HBIA Holiday Shopping Hours
(Beginning November 29)
Beginning November 29, downtown shops will be open late a few nights to service all your holiday shopping needs. Shop ‘til you drop as our merchants celebrate the holiday season with gift ideas for everyone on your list. (see www.porthopehbia.com for more details)
Capitol Christmas – Festival of Trees:
Drop by the Capitol Theatre to visit the display of more than 100 exquisitely decorated trees. Purchase your tickets for a chance to take home one of the beautiful creations sponsored and decorated by our local businesses. Viewing schedules are available at the theatre box office. Parade Reminder:
This year’s parade will exhibit Port Hope's exceptional resiliency and community spirit. Spectators are invited to bring along letters to Santa (collected by Canada Post*), non-perishable food items (collected by Northumberland Fareshare) and new, unwrapped toys (collected by the Port Hope Firefighters Association).
*With the ongoing Canada Post strike, spectators are invited to bring their letters to Santa to the Capitol Theatre lobby. A mailbox from the northpole will be set up to help make sure those special pieces or correspondance get to their intended destination!
